What I found about my luxurious stays in Kashmir was that it was not just about the comfort. In fact, it was much more about rising early in the morning only to be greeted by silence and spending hours looking out of the window at those mountains that seemed still.
What caught my eye first were the locations of these stays. Not among the crowds, but peacefully situated near the lakes, in the valleys or among the mountains. It seemed that the designers wanted to connect their clients with the nature without making them sacrifice comfort. Windows in these buildings were huge, opening up panoramas that were almost unreal. You could be sitting comfortably in the building, feeling relaxed and at ease as you watch clouds move above the mountains.
The whole interior design was thought through thoroughly. Wooden walls, dim lights and all sorts of tiny details contributed to the atmosphere of serenity. This was no noisy luxury. This was a peaceful and subtle luxury. Comfortable enough for you to spend there entire days with just tea in your hand.

This awakening in these apartments was unlike anywhere else. No alarms, no hurry. Just some light shining into the room from the window, and some sounds of nature from outside. Now and then, it would be the sounds of water flowing far away somewhere, or the sound of the wind blowing in the trees. You walk out, and feel the cold, crisp breeze around you. It gives off an aura of silence which is hard to experience anywhere else.
These places become more meaningful towards the end of the day. The lighting becomes softer, the temperature falls, and things become very quiet. Being able to sit and watch the clouds shift and move across the sky is an experience unto itself. Nothing needs to be planned; there are no activities required. Just the calmness is all you require. It is only now that you start to unwind.
These places are special not only for their physical appearance but for what they offer inside. This is not a mere place to rest your body during holidays. It is more like a place where one can stop and recharge his/her batteries. The feeling of comfort, beautiful scenery, silence, and even the minor little things all contribute to creating this feeling that will never be forgotten.
In reflecting on these luxurious getaways, it is not merely the accommodations or the scenery that comes to mind. Instead, the memories that come back to me are of presence, relaxation, and contentment in simplicity. The experience, rather than just the location of accommodation, is what distinguishes such luxurious stays from other vacations.

The lake seems tranquil and timeless as its waters mirror the skies and the surrounding landscape.
